(Note that from 2005 to 2007, the ILDA Awards for one year were presented at the next year's Conference. From 2009 onward, the ILDA Awards year is the same year as the Conference where they are presented. For more information on why there are no awards called "2008", click here.)
ILDA's awards for excellence -- the laser display industry's equivalent of Hollywood's Oscars --each year honor companies and individuals from around the world for their achievements:
• The Artistic Award categories cover virtually all aspects of modern laser displays, from the production of huge outdoor shows to the creation of individual laser graphics.
• The Fenning and ATW Awards honors technological achievement that advances the industry.
• Volunteer awards recognize some of the many people who give of their time and resources throughout the year.
• The Career Achievement Award is ILDA's highest honor, given for work spanning many years in the area of show quality, innovation, and industry service.
The 2005 ILDA Awards were presented at the Awards Banquet held March 13, 2006 at the Hotel Le Conchiglie in Rimini, Italy. Below is a list of the winners in each category.
For more details, see the 32-page booklet handed out at the Awards Banquet. This includes full credits for each winning piece, plus a description of the work.

2nd: "Colour Master", Laser Visuals
Color Master changes how the solid-state lasers are modulated, or more specifically, when they are modulated. It is possible to change the times when the electronic signal to the laser is modulated in order for the light of the multiple laser so be better synchronized, which eliminates the problems of the irritating artifacts appearing on the images. A secondary function of the Colour Master is to allow a wider range of dynamic control over the colour and intensity output.
3rd: "Accurate BLITZ Stage", LaserAnimation Sollinger
The Accurate BLITZ Stage is the successful combination of a professional laser show system with the functions and operation of a moving-head light. It was mainly designed for use on stage. The product contains a green 5W high-power laser, a scanning unit, adjustable focus, double-grating wheel, and a Lasergraph DSP computer with special DMX-controlled software in a moving yoke.
