The 2021 ILDA Conference had been scheduled for October 4-5 at the DoubleTree hotel in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. The host was to have been Mike Meyer of Emerald Owl Productions.

However, in late July and early August, there were significant concerns over the delta variant of COVID-19. Even fully vaccinated persons were at some risk from events with concentrations of people indoors. A number of large and prominent meetings and exhibitions, such as the New York International Auto Show, were cancelled just a few weeks before they were to take place.

Based on health safety concerns, and on the expected effect of delta restrictions on our U.S. and international Members, on August 5 2021, the ILDA Board of Directors voted to move from an in-person meeting, to an online virtual meeting.

ILDA will move the 2021 Conference to take place in 2023. (We are committed to being in London in 2022.)

We have therefore left the information below for reference, as most of the data (except for the exact day/dates) will be the same for 2023.

The 2021 ILDA Conference will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Oceanfront Hotel in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, October 3-6. The host is Michael Meyer of Emerald Owl Productions, Inc.

The exciting highlight of this Conference is a public outdoor laser show on the beach in Emerald Isle, NC. This features ILDA Award winners and entrants. ILDA Conference attendees will have our Welcome Dinner on the beach, prior to the laser show. It takes place Sunday evening, Oct. 3.
